GOD'S LESSON OF THE CICADA
God gives us patterns in the natural that shows us what is happening in the spirit. The cicada is the example of the true Christians in these end times. As the cicadas begin their lives they burrow deep in the ground. Then, when the time is right and the ground is warm, the nymph (immature bug) works its way to the surface and climbs up a tree. Virtually overnight it comes out of its shell. As it first emerges it is completely white, and appears to be a different creature. It matures Quickly and spreads its wings. As they mature they begin to sing, the singing is unavoidable and everywhere. It signifies their presence. The mate is attracted and then the female lays her new eggs in the tree branches. Their purpose is to multiply. Their adult life only lasts weeks. They pursue their goal ernestly.
How can this point to us as Christians? Well, let's look at it step by step. First the cicada is hatched and burrows in the ground. This represents our fleshly birth, for a time we are part of this world. Then in God's timing, as circumstances start to heat up, we come to the surface. Then we climb up the tree which represents the cross. As we repent and come out of our shell, it is usually the result of some dark or hard time. Just as the cicada emerges overnight, we go from darkness to light. As we emerge we are washed white as snow, we are a new creature, we are born-again. But this is only the beginning. We then mature, and with boldness spread our wings. As the cicadas take flight, so do we. We take to the streets. We begin to sing praises. You will know we are there, you will hear the singing. The singing is unavoidable just as it will be in heaven
Jesus is attracted and his presence and glory. Also attracted are the opposite - the sinner. In the presence of Jesus the sinner sees his condition and sees his need, and comes into agreement with Jesus. The kingdom of God is multiplied. Just as the cicada lays her eggs in the tree branch, we place these new Christians in the tree, the Cross. But these are end-times, the work will be quick and then the opportunity will be gone.
The time is right! Things are heating up! The Christians are coming out of their shells with new power and boldness, they will gather and sing, sing, sing praises to Jesus, and his presence will cover the city, the sinners will fall on their faces and be convicted and converted by the GLORY OF GOD.
