Dear Friends,
A New year! New lessons in HIM! We were recently talking with a friend about
how much more "in love" with Jesus we have become these past few years, and the
thought came that this is just the tip of the ice-berg! How much more is there?
You know after all his troubles Job just couldn’t be concerned anymore with the
things of this world, he loved and enjoyed his family but he wasn’t worried
anymore. He had finally come face to face with who God is and nothing else
mattered anymore! We’ve been there and you know what, it’s Freedom! You know the
old saying, "a hundred years from now, what will it matter?" well, you know
what? Today what does it matter? It isn’t about us, or our feelings, or our
likes or dislikes, it isn’t even about other people. I remember the difference
between working for someone else verses being self employed. It was great to
just be an employee, no hassles, no headaches, little responsibility, you got
off at quitting time and didn’t have to concern yourself with things again till
the next workday. Just follow orders, get the job done and pick-up a check on
pay day, smooth enough. But when we owned the business, there was so much more
to things, if someone didn’t show up you had to do their job, you had to work a
million hours it seemed, you had to pay bills and others sometimes when there
wasn’t enough to cover your own pay. There was taxes and inventories and
temperamental "artistic" employees and workers comp, and so many other things to
be concerned with. So much like our walk with Jesus sometimes, so many concerns,
so many worries, will the enemy get me here, will I get baptized with the right
name, am I reading the right version? Do I spend enough time in study? Do I
tithe before or after taxes? Does my pastor speak in tongues? Should I show him
where it says he should? Where should I go for my two weeks mission trip this
year, it’s required you know? Do this do that. Did I eat pork this week? So many
rules, so many worries, so many new "prophetic" words about what I’m supposed to
be feeling this year. Is this year to be "apostolic", "prophetic", "legalistic",
or just plain pathetic. Am I supposed to fast and pray or pray and fast? Can I
drink coffee when I fast, is a hamburger OK on a "Daniel fast" since it isn’t
choice meat? Is this the year of the "worshipping dancers" or is this the year
of "solemn assemblies". (If I have offended anybody it was purely unintentional,
I haven’t read the Elijah list in months.) Is your head and spirit swimming with
confusion yet? Let me make it simple and easy. Him God, you mortal. He is the
creator, you are the created. Step one, Love the Lord with all you heart mind
and soul. Step two, love others more than yourself. It is that simple, really it
is. Become the employee and let Jesus become the owner. Become the child and let
Him become the parent. I truly tell you the truth, if you focus on Him and
loving Him you can’t go wrong. If you’re in sin, He will show you, if you are in
error, He will show you, if your spouse isn’t saved, your loving attitude will
draw them in. If there is unforgiveness in your heart He will heal it, if there
is rebellion in your life He will remove it. Loving Him, really loving Him with
total submission will solve all your problems. There is no wrong way to love
Him. You don’t have to know all the latest trends, and formulas. Just love Him
and ask Him how do it more. The Lord has been showing me personally more about
honor and how it really is a serious thing. And since I truly love Him I want to
learn more about honoring Him, this will probably lead to another tract. In fact
that’s what I thought I would be writing about today but instead you got the
same ole thing. There are a hundred scriptures in my spirit right now about how
to love God but I’m not going to share them, I’ll let Him give you one, listen
close, He’s speaking. www.john17-23.com- Maury Co Jail, Clifton Prison, Cowboys for Christ, home-meetings, outreach
