APRIL
2002 Volume 5 Number 2
Dear Friends,
The joy
of springtime is here!! A new season, some new changes .Living in the country
gives such a display of the seasons, new flowers every other day, everything
blooming, and lots of new births. We see new calves and colts everywhere we
go. Signs of life, signs of His continued covenant with mankind. Signs of His
love for us. If we are faithful to worship HIM , He is faithful to prosper our
lives. He has brought so much of His fruit into our lives, salvation to our
families, more love than we can possibly understand while on this earth. And
He is bringing us another child, in the fall of this year. It amazes me how
believers will chase down material “blessings” while rejecting the heavenly
ones. I recently heard a good quote by a respected brother, "The Bible calls
debt a curse and children a blessing. But in our culture we apply for a curse
and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture" - Doug Phillips .
While praying with a group recently the subject of abortion came up, and you
know what the Lord told me? He said we were all guilty of feeding this spirit
and we all needed to repent, He said true repentance will change things, it
will heal the land. How can we all be guilty? Because we have rejected the
children he has for us, some before they are ever born, some after. Most of
the Christians refuse to have more than a couple children, even though the
Lord is calling for them to spread His Word. Then the ones we finally give
into, we don’t have time for, then we use the excuse that we can’t tend to
them because we are busy doing things for God. That is how we reject them, and
He is calling us to repent. I recently talked with a school teacher that said
so many children these days are on behavior modifying drugs, the major cause?
Because their parents don’t have time for them. He is calling us to repent. We
cry and lament and intercede for the aborted babies yet He is calling us to
repent. Why don’t we have time for children? Our careers, our big houses, our
plans, our time, our selfishness. Please oh please, body of Christ can we get
a revelation of His will be done, not my will, but His? I really didn’t mean
to go there but I guess HE did. One more tidbit of info, while the Christian
church is busy praying fruitless prayers instead of repenting and building
their monumental cathedrals “for God”, the Muslims are busy having children,
lots of them and training them by their beliefs to take the world for the
cause they believe in. Have you even shared Christ with 1 person this week?
Meanwhile, we continue to minister to those children that no one had time for
that have now grown up. They have many addictions, a spirit of rejection ,
they aren’t trusting and they are tired of being hurt. They are tough on the
outside, but crushed on the inside. They have been hurt, and have turned
around to hurt others, many times violently. Many are incarcerated, some with
life sentences. To many they are a lost cause, but to Jesus they are a child
in need. Jesus said it is better to have a millstone around your neck and to
be thrown into the sea than to reject one of these, my paraphrase of Luke
17:2.
CLIFTON PRISON-One of Jim’s favorite places,
ripe for revival!! Seen a man healed of a Hepatitis blood disease, he was told
it could not be cured, Jesus knows better. Watched the altars flooded, and one
man was so absolutely broken in repentance he was given a heavenly prayer
language. He didn’t ask for a thing but just poured out his heart to the Lord.
Seen lots of salvation, and the men are now praying and fasting and begging
the Lord for revival in the penitentiary, yes those are the inmates, praying
and fasting!
MAURY CO JAIL-New season as our beloved
chaplain Robert Pruitt retires. As a brother joined for ministry there, the
altar call was made, the men responded, just about all of them, and the men
shared testimony of what the Lord had done for them. An inmate who we had seen
saved years ago was back again, legally he wasn’t supposed to be back there,
but spiritually he was. God was not through with him yet. He recognized the
Lord at work and he is grateful for the never-failing love of Jesus.
LOCAL OUTREACH CENTER-A dream come true to be able to
minister to inmates AFTER they come out from behind bars. Getting out of jail
is a real hard time for a new or young believer, or anyone trying to get his
life on track. The temptations are endless, the support is usually
non-existent. So this is always another favorite place. Jim takes our oldest
son Beau, age 11 with him. Jim preaches after Beau leads worship, then the
guys surround Beau and beg for testimonies. They not only recognize that Beau
has been raised different but they love it. We have seen much fruit here.
MISSIONARIES BEAU AND RACHEL BARTON-We recently had a
very fruitful time as they joined us for ministry, we saw salvation,
deliverance, and healing. A man who got saved said that he had tried to let
everyone else run his life and they had messed it up. Then he tried to run it
himself and really messed things up further, then he said it was finally to
give up and let the Lord do it. Submission is a good thing. After radical
praise and worship by the group “Faith” a young man came up and said, “I got
me a new addiction”. Yes praising the Lord is better than any drug out there.

RADIO TUES NIGHTS 6PM- WMRB 910 AM A
recent quote from Kent Romine as a guest last month, he said, “the problem
with the church today is that there are too many living people in it”. He sure
is right, if we can all die to our flesh and our own selfish “feelings” then
we would all get along just fine!
JASON UPTON & BECOMING
LIKE A CHILD- We were recently very blessed to see Jason Upton
(prophetic psalmist) right hear in Lawrenceburg. While his songs were a
blessing and very anointed, one thing he said really went home with me. Him
and his wife were recently blessed with a baby boy, Samuel. After his birth
Jason was so excited thinking about all he could teach baby Samuel as he grew.
But the Lord spoke to him and said, “ Jason I have not given you Samuel so
that you could teach him to be like you, but that so I could teach you to be
more like him”. What a profound statement. I see this with the body of Christ
and my own children all the time. We teach our children to be respectful and
humble to those around them. So others see them as teachable, and want to
teach them everything there is to know, about everything. Well for one thing
most often their information is wrong and for another thing the Lord has
appointed Jim and I as their teachers. How many things are missed by following
our own agendas! But the most interesting thing is how this works in the
church. Recently a man who had gotten saved was so excited about Jesus that
finally someone asked Jim to have a talk with him and calm him down a little,
they really wanted him calmed down a lot! As Jim and I were talking we both
had to agree that we didn’t need to calm the boy down, instead we needed him
to fire everybody else up. We as the church see someone who is newly saved and
we want to puff ourselves up like some super Christian and teach them a thing
or two. All the while Jesus is saying, become more like them! We want to thank
y’all so much for the love and support during the time of Levi’s passing, we
have not lost him , we know exactly where he is! Although we miss him the Lord
has filled that spot with more of His heart and His love, He is good. Thank
you so much for your monthly gifts that keep us ministering full-time, we love
you
tremendously!
