Dearest Friends,

This month I would like to share with you a love story. A different kind of love story. A child’s love. There is so much revelation of the Kingdom of God in families, to those of you who have not opened your heart to as many children as the Lord would give you, you are missing something. His Kingdom is evident all around us but He shows it to us in a personal way through children. So here is the story, a true story.

Mercy is our youngest, she is 3. The Word tells us in Matthew 18:2-4, "2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." I believe 3 yr olds are a perfect picture of this scripture. They are old enough to recognize their own desires but still too dependent on Momma to follow them for the most part. I will give you a peek into mine and Mercy’s relationship. She has her own ideas, her own opinions, her own "my way" of doing things. But above all that she still longs for "Momma’s way". She wants to play with "Momma’s stuff, and imitate me in everything I do. When I am sitting at the computer she will often sit at a little makeshift computer next to me. She longs to be near to me. Her dream is to sit in my lap for hours and be that close. She loves to have her hands on what my hands are on. But when that isn’t possible she has her hands on the next best thing. If I am on the phone she picks up another phone and pretends to carry on the same type conversation. She will often sit at my feet and play with whatever is handy just to be near to me. But our best time spent together is when we pray. Sometimes she will go off praying for all kinds of things that are good but sometimes I need to lead her back in with just, "Jesus, I love you". When she is tired she loves to rub my cheek, and put her head against my shoulder, or put her cheek to my cheek. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. Notice these points. She lives to be near me. She has her own desires but is still fearful sometimes to follow them, she knows to follow what I do is safe. She loves to do what I do. She finds safety in my nearness. When she is weary she knows the best place to be is as close as she can get to me. She is easily brought back to focus when I remind her of the Lord’s love. She believes what I tell her. Now from the other side, Momma’s view, I will tell you my heart melts when she hugs me or says she loves me. And if we are apart for awhile I can get easily teary-eyed by the thought of her pretty face. I know some of you think I have gone off the deep end, and you are right, I lost my mind and my heart a long time ago, exchanging them for the Lord’s mind and heart. Love completely ruins you and I am so glad to be ruined. I love all my children like this, but the youngest is the best example of what I am trying to explain. It is the same as being born again. We start out being at the Lord’s feet constantly, just loving His presence. Doing what He does. But then we get a little bigger and follow our own ideas, not being so afraid. But you know fear is good if it is right. Fearing what can happen when you step outside of His bounds is a good fear. I do believe this is what it means to be "like a child". To be like it was when you were first saved, totally dependent on Him. Sitting at His feet, not caring what the world does around you. Listening for His voice and feeling His heartbeat. I share that for those of you who don’t have a little one at your feet, to give you a picture to hold onto of being a child. I love my children more than I love myself, and yet the Word compares my love and His and calls mine still "evil". Matt 18:9-11 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! His is so much better that mine that in comparison mine doesn’t even look good. Now if I can get teary eyed at the thought of my small daughter’s smile, what does His heart feel when He looks at you?

There are often a group of young people who come in and sit on the side. At least a few of them have no real parents, they live with grandparents or extended family. Sometimes they are hungry for the Lord, sometimes they aren’t. Sometimes they sit and visit with each other, there have been times that I wonder why they are there. Then the Lord reminds me. As one girl says, "it’s addicting". What she is referring to is the Lord’s presence. Yes His presence is addicting. During the worship this group of young people will just be sitting there, or talking, not even really trying to press in, and all of a sudden it happens. One by one like dominos, it falls upon them, you could actually see it happen if you weren’t having the same thing affect you. They start getting a little fidgety, and then they fall to their knees or bury their head in their lap. Then the tears start, and they keep flowing and flowing. Now some people would like to say that this is only emotion. But these young people have nobody to impress. Completely losing oneself isn’t necessarily "cool". So let me give you more of a picture of what is going on. Who is your most favorite beloved relative or friend? Think for a moment what it feels like to miss someone you love dearly, to be separated from that person. Maybe you lost contact or they moved away, or maybe you just got so busy that you forgot how much they loved you. Then all of a sudden there they are, arms open wide, just wanting to love you. They don’t want to talk about why you separated, or rehash old problems, they just want to hold you, like a long lost loved one would hold you. They just want to love you like a parent loves a child who was lost but is now found. Those kinds of reunions bring lots of tears. That is what happens when we slow down enough to commune with Jesus. When He envelops us with His love and reminds us how good it is to be in His arms, emotional? Yeah, and it is good. He loves a tender child-like heart.

The church is located in downtown Mt Pleasant TN. Check the site for more details, or give us a call at 931-379-9244. If you are hungry for more of Jesus and within driving distance then this is the place to be! We meet Thursdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 3. We are seeing some really exciting things lately and have some testimonies from people who have attended the services. Jesus is moving in our small town and we are humbled to be part of what he is doing. If you want to read the testimonies go to the main page and then look for "happenings", I have new stuff on!

IN CLOSING-   We thank you so much for standing with us! Some people may think this is a real big ministry and we get a big salary, but that is not at all true. We have for years "gone forth" to do the Lord’s work whether anybody is with us or not. We have never gotten a salary. Our local body is small and probably half of the people have very little or no income, many are brand new believers. The Lord told us years ago to "walk on water" and that He would move on the hearts of His members of His body to support what we do. When we go into a prison we go to give, we don’t take up offerings. I say all that to say, for those who back us up in prayer and give to this ministry, you have no idea how much we appreciate you. We are grateful when you hear His voice and obey it, it allows us to go where He calls us to go. I can’t tell you how many times we have wondered how we were going to put gas in the van to go somewhere or pay the bills and He will speak and say, "I have it handled". His having it handled involves you! We are missionaries to this area, and we wouldn’t be on this mission field if it weren’t for YOU, thank you so much! Please know you are greatly loved and appreciated for your gifts and your prayers, we couldn’t do it without you! In Him,
